Cyclosporine Eye drops is used to add to tear production in folks with dry eye disease. |
| |
These Eye drops is in a group of medicinal drug called immunomodulators. |
| |
It works by diminishing bulge in the eye to permit for tear production. |
| |

Cyclosporine Eye drops comes as an emulsion liquid to apply to the eye. |
| |
It is habitually applied to each eye twice a day, about 12 hours apart. |
| |
Apply them around the same times every day. |
| |
Follow the directions on your prescription label cautiously, and inquire your doctor or pharmacist to give details of any part you do not understand. |

Make use of these eye drops exactly as directed. |
| |
Do not make use of more or less of them or use them more often than prescribed by your doctor. |

Cyclosporine eye drops are for use only in the eye(s). Do not gulp or apply cyclosporine eye drops to the skin.

These eye drops come in single-use vials i.e. small bottles to be used for one dose. The liquid from one vial must be used right away after opening for one or both eyes. |

Wash your hands properly with soap and water. |
| |
Twist over the vial a few times till the liquid inside appears white and not see-through. |
| |
Unbolt the vial. |
| |
Use a mirror or have somebody else put the drops in your eye. |
| |
Stay away from touching the dropper next to your eye or anything else. |
| |
Clutch the dropper tip down at all times to avoid drops from flowing back into the bottle and making the remaining contents contaminated. |
| |
Holding the Cyclosporine bottle between your thumb and index finger, place the dropper as near as possible to your eyelid without touching it. |
| |
Support the remaining fingers of that hand against your cheek or nose. |
| |
With the index finger of your other hand, pull the lower lid of the eye down to form a pocket. |
| |
Drop the suggested number of drops into the pocket made by the lower lid and the eye. Placing the drops on the surface of the eyeball can cause stinging. |
| |
Close your eye and press carefully against the lower lid with your finger for 2-3 minutes to keep the medicinal drug in the eye. Do not flicker. |
| |
If you are using Cyclosporine eye drops for both eyes, repeat steps 7-11 for the other eye. |
| |
Wash off any surplus liquid from your cheek with a clean tissue. |
| |
Even if it is not empty throw away the vial out of the reach of children. |
| |
Clean your hands again. |
| |

Notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are sensitive to cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune) or any other medicinal drug. |
| |
Notify your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medicinal drug, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. |

Be sure to talk about other eye drops for dry eye ailment. |
| |
If you are using synthetic tears, apply them at least 15 minutes prior to or after cyclosporine eye drops. |
| |
Notify your doctor if you have an eye contagion, if you have a punctual plug (stopper inserted by a doctor in a tear duct to keep tears in the eye), and if you have or have ever had a herpes infectivity of the eye. |

Notify your doctor if you are expectant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you turn out to be pregnant while using cyclosporine eyedrops, call your doctor. |
| |
You should know that cyclosporine eye drops must not be applied while wearing contact lenses. If you wear contact lenses, take out them prior to applying cyclosporine eye drops and put them back in 15 minutes later. Have a discussion with your doctor about wearing contact lenses if you have dry eye disease. |

Cyclosporine eye drops may reason side effects. Notify your doctor if any of these symptoms are dangerous or do not go away; such as burning, itching, stinging, redness, or pain of the eyes, overflow of tears, red eyes, eye discharge, blurred vision or other vision changes, feeling that something is in the eye. |

Store this medicinal drug in the bottle it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. |
| |
Keep it at room temperature as well as away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). |
| |
Discard away each vial after one use. |
| |
Discard away any medicinal drug that is expired or no longer needed. |
| |
Have a discussion with your pharmacist about the proper discarding of your medicinal drug. |
